Kaspersky Lab has today announced that its founder and CEO, Eugene Kaspersky, will hold a speaker slot at this year’s Counter Terror Expo entitled ‘Threats in the age of cyber warfare’.
During the speech, Eugene, an authority on cyber warfare and terrorism, will outline the steps being taken to prevent threats and make the Internet a military-free zone. Alongside his thoughts on the increasing threat of cyber terrorism, Eugene will be discussing the shadow economy of cybercrime, new platforms and targets, as well as detailing the ever increasing profits made by cyber criminals.
Eugene Kaspersky is one of the globe’s top cyber terrorism experts, with more than 20 years of experience in the field of cyber threats and espionage. He is quickly becoming the authority on cyber terrorism, and was invited to speak at the widely-publicised London Cyberspace Conference in November last year. He regularly speaks at seminars and conferences all over the world, and has authored numerous high profile articles and reviews.
He commented: “What makes cyber-attacks lethal is that they can go undetected. They are invisible. They don’t show up on metal detectors or CCTV. Thus, they are much more dangerous than other kind of attacks. For example, technical vulnerabilities in a state’s computer-supported infrastructure may be exploited in a cyber-terrorist attack to disrupt vital networked systems. The consequences could be catastrophic. And today, after the world has experienced the high-profile attacks using Stuxnet and Duqu, we really need to bring the issue of cyber terrorism to the top of business and governmental agendas before it spirals out of control.”
Counter Terror Expo is the critically acclaimed, highly specialised, event for those who are tasked with the demanding and complex role of delivering a robust defence against the threat posed from international terrorism. Eugene’s speech will take place on Wednesday 25th April from 16:00-16:40, with the expo running until April 26th at Earls Court Olympia, London.
The Expo brings the foremost experts from government, armed forces, security services, law enforcement and academia from all over the world together annually, to share real-life
experience, debate strategies, brainstorm issues, shape policy and define effective counter-measures.
