General Data Protection Regulation

A journey towards good data health

There’s No Escaping It

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is coming and no matter what part of a business you work in, be it HR or marketing, legal, information security and IT, it will affect you and have an impact on your working day. If you handle, hold or use personal data inside the EU – whether that’s employee details, customer or prospect information – the GDPR will bring change to your working practises and it’s up to you to make them.

We All Have A Part To Play

While a large part of GDPR readiness will come down to the heavy lifting done by your legal, information security and IT departments, the regulations mean a fundamental change to the way in which companies – and the individuals within them – handle personal information. That’s why at Kaspersky Lab, we believe we all have a role to play in getting the organisations we work for over the line, ahead of the May 25, 2018 deadline.

Kaspersky Lab is Ready

Kaspersky Lab is ready to the GDPR from a legal, technical and organisational point of view. Like all companies across Europe, over the past two years we have been working towards ensuring that our products and the way that we use and store personal data is in line with the new regulations. Respecting and protecting people’s privacy is a fundamental principle of Kaspersky Lab’s approach since the company was born. We have been protecting our customers’, employees’, partners’ and other individuals’ data for the last 20 years and will diligently continue to do so. Kaspersky Lab strongly believes that the GDPR is a step in the right direction for businesses and consumers alike. More information about our approach

THE ROLE OF CYBERSECURITY SOLUTIONS

While the Regulation itself doesn’t provide any guidelines for selection or implementation of cybersecurity solutions, it does clearly underline the importance of adequate data protection – along with regular assessments and adjustments of security strategy.

Cybersecurity solutions – such as ours - do not, on their own, ensure GDPR compliance for the companies using them.

Their use can, however, assist companies processing personal data by offering effective measures for reducing the risks of a data breach, preventing security incidents and delivering enhanced visibility of the monitored infrastructure.
