Abingdon, 31 July 2013 - Kaspersky Lab today announced that Kaspersky Small Office Security, the company’s home office product, has made it into the Top 3 most effective security solutions for its class. The new solution took second place in the Small Business Anti-Virus Protection April – June 2013 test conducted by Dennis Technology Labs, the independent testing laboratory.
Dennis Technology Lab’s experts used two parameters to assess the effectiveness of solutions at detecting and blocking urgent threats, and also distinguishing legitimate software without affecting its performance. During the testing, Kaspersky Lab’s product missed just two out of 100 threats (against an average of 6.2) and generated two false positives (against an average of 5.4).
Kaspersky Small Office Security returned a 94 per cent effectiveness rating, earning itself the AA grade in Dennis Technology Labs’ classification. During the testing, the solution was lined up against security products from four other popular software vendors.
“Security solutions for home offices must be easy to use and cannot demand specialist IT support because not all organisations of this size can afford designated staff. At the same time, they must provide high levels of protection against cyber-attacks which may threaten “home” businesses. Kaspersky Small Office Security was developed in response to the needs and capabilities of home offices and, judging by the high scores which our product regularly receives from the experts, it’s not only a consistently effective barrier against threats, it’s also functional and user-friendly”, said Nikita Shvetsov Deputy CTO (Research) at Kaspersky Lab.
Kaspersky Small Office Security is an up-to-date and reliable solution for home offices. In addition to an extensive set of unique technologies to detect and block malicious software, the product includes a number of useful tools for managing the company's network, encrypting and making backup copies of valuable data. Additionally, the solution is extremely user-friendly - there is no need to hire a system administrator to install and use it.
