Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 for home users delivered a 100 per cent success rate in blocking Zero-day threats during a two-month security test. The Kaspersky Lab product took part in AV-Test’s May-June 2013 independent test, and scored 16.5 points out of 18 for its protection capabilities, performance and usability.
The test involved 26 security solutions from world-renowned vendors. AV-Test’s experts focused on how well each product handled a wide range of threats – including Zero-day attacks – as well as their ability to distinguish between legitimate software and malware, or safe and dangerous websites. Kaspersky Lab’s product performed outstandingly well in every task. For instance, it blocked all 132 malicious Zero-day attacks (those which use breaches in legitimate software that have not been repaired) unleashed by the test. Kaspersky Internet Security made only three false detections, in comparison to some other participants that delivered up to 25 false positives.
Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 scored top marks in two categories, gaining six out of six for both protection and usability. In the performance category, Kaspersky Lab was awarded 4.5 out of six, against an industry average of 3.8. The combined total saw Kaspersky Lab’s product take second place in the testing overall.

Kaspersky Internet Security has repeatedly proved its worth under independent testing: at the end of June, AV-Comparatives awarded the solution its highest Advanced+ rating based on the results of a rigorous four-month test. In late May, Dennis Technology Labs praised Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 for its strong performance in urgent threat protection tests.
