Kaspersky Lab institutes a Board of Directors to ensure optimal governance and consistent future growth.

Moscow, Aug 8, 2007 – Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management solutions, announces the optimization of its corporate governance and the creation of a Board of Directors (BOD), the highest governing body of the company.

The BOD will develop the general strategy and make key appointments of the top managers. The BOD will consist of 9 members including shareholders and top managers from corporate headquarters and from the local offices. Natalya Kaspersky has been elected to the post of Chairman of the BOD, while Eugene Kaspersky has been appointed CEO of Kaspersky Lab. Other members of the BOD include Alexey De Mont De Rique, Vitaly Bezrodnykh, Evgeny Buyakin, Garry Kondakov, Andreas Lamm, Steve Orenberg, and Harry Cheung.

“In the 10 years since it was founded, Kaspersky Lab has grown from a small family-run business, founded by a group of associates, into a global company. The company is one of the best success stories of the Russian IT market and is one of the few Russian IT companies to have succeeded in the international market, – asserts Natalya Kaspersky. – The company turnover increases more than 70% every year; Kaspersky Lab is first in the retail market in Germany, a leader in China and an emerging player in all market segments in the US. Improving the corporate governance structure complies with internationally accepted practices employed by the majority of large international companies. Introducing top managers from our key local offices to the Board of Directors reflects the changed essence of Kaspersky Lab as an international company that operates in all key markets all over the world”.

“We are going after an ambitious, but realistic goal – we hope to become one of the top 3 antivirus developers in the world in three years and thus one of the major players in the IT security market, says Eugene Kaspersky. - We need the best technology possible to achieve this goal, but the company must also have a modern corporate governance system in order to make and implement strategic decisions effectively. We have done well with our existing structure, but the time has come to move forward with fresh ideas and new approaches. Establishing a Board of Directors, unanimously supported by all of the shareholders and the top management of the company, is a key element in this process. The main priorities for the company will be continuing to develop unsurpassed protection technologies, leveraging global expansion and preparing for an IPO.”
